Monday Coffee Corner

Dear Family,

What a month this has been, and the sun is shinning brightly! I love this time of year with all the birds singing and the earth coming to life after the great long winter!

This coming week we have several things going on that I’d like to highlight several things. First of all, the retirement of Ms. Renee Johnson at the end of the school year. After thirty years of selfless devotion to the education of our students at Holy Family Church & School, Renee is retiring from teaching. As a parish we owe her a big, BIG THANK YOU! In the end our gratitude cannot express enough our thanks is what she has done for our youth of yesterday and today! I have only known her for a short time, but I have been blessed to know her and her warm smile as she teaches her students. If you can make it this Thursday, May 19 at 8:30 AM for the parish daily Mass we will pray in Thanksgiving to Almighty God for the 30 Years of Service in which Renee has given to Holy Family Church & School. Thank you, Renee!

Secondly, Mr. Bill Erickson our janitor for the parish and school is also retiring at the end of the school year. Bill has served the past six years in this capacity for the parish. I am so grateful for his selfless work in diligently cleaning and helping to make our school sparkly clean for our school students. Bill has helped out in anyway possible throughout the parish with the grounds at the cemetery, parish & school. If you see Bill around please tell him thank you for his work at the parish and school.

Thirdly, our school is putting on their annual Spring Concert this Wednesday, May 18 at 6PM in the church. Please come and support our school kids as they entertain us and bring joy to our hearts.

This coming Sunday, May 22 at 10 AM Mass it will be Mass with Confirmation and Reception of Holy Communion for our students making these two sacrament. If you cannot attended please keep them in your prayers that they may always be faithful to the message of the Gospel.

Finally, as many of you know I am the Diocese of Gaylord Diocesan Chaplain for the Knights of Columbus. Next week, May 24-27 is their annual convention on Mackinac Island and I am required to be there. With that said next Tuesday through Friday (May 24-27) there will be no daily mass at Holy Family. Please pray for safe travels for me and all the priests, knights and their families. I am hoping for good weather!

Have a joyous week!

In Our Lady, Mother & Queen,
